The record industry still doesn’t get it.

Today Sony blocked Beyonce’s official YouTube channel in the US due to copyright infringement.

The video for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” has been replaced by this notice: “This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.”

Sony have in other words just given us another reminder of their paranoid schizophrenic behavior and the ridiculous hunt to make every penny it can on every slice of copyrighted music and video online.

This is the same company who recently made a deal worth somewhere between $200 million and $250 million to suck everything they can out of Michael Jackson’s music.
